I got an email from https://www.grammarly.com/ for year-end discount offer where there was a blog link (see below link)to prompt you for writing your self reflection of 2020.

No wonder, I was sold to the idea and here goes my thoughts on the questions asked of -

1 What are the three most important things you learned this year?

Covid-19 year ! What an year this has been…my top 3 will be -

  1. Health is wealth. Look after it well enough.
  2. There is enough time to do whatever you want to do. You just need to PP ( Plan + Prioritize) it.
  3. Love people and use things. Because the opposite never works.

And watch the Netflix video as well -

2 Who has made the biggest impact on you this year?

There has been so many people who impacted you during this pandemic year, I would like to play safe here by not naming anyone specific.

3 Who or what inspires you most?

Not sure of any person for this question, but I would say its more of creative juices which inspired me. Be it DIY people has been doing during lockdowns, or people learning new technical skills. Even my mom learning to do whats-app at will in no less wonder.

4 What’s one goal you accomplished this year?

Reading books ! #MyYearInBooks 2020 from Goodreads.com
I set a challenge to read 12 books at the beginning of the year(Jan’20), and finishing the year with 27 books completed (Dec’20).

5 What can you do today that you didn’t think was possible a year ago?

I guess video editing is something which is new to me. Though photography has been my second love (love is first), video editing has come up slowly but surely. Having invested a lot of time on https://www.skillshare.com/ for final cut pro editing, I would say its challenging and satisfying.

6 What achievement in 2020 are you most proud of?

Achieving 4 out of my 5 major life goals set for this year. The one which is not achieved is blamed towards #Covid19, than on me.

7 What is one habit you would like to change?

Drinking more water. I need to measure my intake.

8 How do you maintain balance in your life?

This is an interesting question on Covid-19 year. This has not been very tough for me.

I still remember, on the first day of work from home for this year (Mar 23rd, 2020), I got dress in tracksuit , wore seater and socks. Overall it’s a semi-formal dress, and worked as if am in office. At 5.30pm, I logged off as normal, and took out my sock. My brain is trained now as “wearing socks” means it’s office time.

9 What were your career highlights this year?

Pass.

10 What excites you about the future?

I’m very excited about future in general. You can achieve a lot in 24 hours, if you prioritize your time. Also, decide what you can do and should NOT do to influence it.

11 What was the most challenging part of this year for me?

Most challenging part has to be avoiding the negative thoughts which comes to your mind due to lockdown, covid-19 etc. Staying in a small closed family helped to overcome it easily.

12 Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to yourself at the start of 2020?

“Keep digging.”

If you keep working on some acts, habits, the end goal will come sooner than later. And when it comes , it will come due to cumulative progression with exponential outcome.

13 What are my most important goals for next year?

Let me pick top three here -

  1. Invest time on your mental aspect
  2. Invest time on your family and friends
  3. Invest time on your knowledge enhancement

14 What is something that was hard early in the year that’s easier now?

I would say , it’s time management.

This was relatively hard at beginning but has become effortless by now, specially under lockdown scenario.

15 What did you learn about yourself this year that surprised you?

I can cook eatable food.

We can survive a year with “almost everyday” home cooked food.

2021, bring it on !
