Don’t be the Glue

  1. Framework for success — Firstly, you need to be the window opener and show out the success framework. What are the steps needs to show success? For example, write down all the steps necessary for the work to be completed as outlined by the team themselves, and then the team follows it. Next, allow the unit to commit and then sit back.
  2. Empower others — Evaluate the activities where you’re engaged, and then check if someone else can do that. If yes, allow the team member to do alike. Ensure that he is knowledgeable, has the confidence and eagerness to do so, and then help the member.
  3. Be the last man standing — Step to avoid being the glue to let the process flow of its own. But if there is an emergency, then you, as project manager, be the last-minute standing. Be it at out of office working hours, or if you know your team is working late, make sure they know they have the manager’s backing.
